The Great Escape: Six teams to beat the drop on the final day

It’s come down to QPR and Bolton. Who do you fancy to stay up?

WITH WOLVES AND Blackburn already destined for Championship football next season, just one spot remains on the lift marked ‘Going Down’.

Owen Coyle’s Bolton, who travel to the Britannia Stadium desperately in need of a win, are 1/3 to take the plunge with QPR being the other possibility.

The Rs are two points ahead but play champions-elect Manchester City, who know a win will hand them their first Premier League title unless United can outscore them by eight goals away to Sunderland.

Mark Hughes would no doubt love to get one over on his former employers but the chances are slim, meaning if the Trotters can beat Stoke they are likely to beat the drop.

Here are six occasions when sides seemingly dead and bury did the unthinkable.
