AFTER BEING ASSURED by the Arsenal board that he has money to spend, Arsene Wenger has confirmed he is interested in signing Napoli striker Edison Cavani.
When pressed on new signings, Wenger said: “[Cavani] would cost a lot of money. Our banker lives nearby and he’s ready if we need him. I like him as a player.”
For the moment though, it seems as if Wenger and Arsenal’s priority will be convincing Theo Walcott to sign on the dotted line.

As a Napoli fan I can tell you with near certainty that El Matador (Cavani) will not be leaving the San Paolo in the near future. He only penned a new 5 year contract extension last August and club owner De Laurentiis has stated many times it will take a bid of no less than €70m for him to even consider selling his prized striker. The docked 2 points were reinstated by the FIGC today and now Napoli stand only 2 points behind Juve. Selling Cavani is not something they will want to do!
After Messi, Falcao and Cavani are the two best strikers in the world. 30m wouldn’t even buy his left foot! He loves Naples and is very settled there. In any case, there isn’t a hope in hell that Arsenal’s board would be willing to match Napoli’s valuation.
