Limerick 'amicably part company' with boss Stuart Taylor

The club have lost their last two league games and were eliminated from the FAI Cup by Bohemians.

LIMERICK FC HAVE confirmed Stuart Taylor will be leaving the club after 16 months in charge of the club.

The club has confirmed an amicable parting of company and thanked the Scot for ‘his professionalism, energy and personal commitment to the club during his time here’. Chairman Pat O’Sullivan commented, “ Having spoken to Stuart repeatedly in recent days, this decision is the best for both parties. We wish Stuart all the very best in his future career and are confident that someone with his skills and experience will be quickly snapped up.”

Taylor, for his part, says he is proud of the progress the club has made, under his stewardship, since he came on-board in March 2013. He feels, however, the time is right for him to step away from the club. He added:

I would like to thank club officials for the continued support they have given me throughout my time here as manager. Their determination along with the commitment of loyal supporters and local clubs have played a significant role in the progress made by Limerick FC.

“I want to also acknowledge the huge effort given by my players and backroom staff since my arrival at the club and I wish all connected with the club the best for the future.”

Limerick FC confirmed that Tommy Barrett will join the remaining management team ahead of Friday night’s trip to Athlone Town FC. The club are currently eighth in the league but their involvement in the FAI Cup was ended by Bohemians in June.
