Eh What?

Yes, Stoke have signed Bojan from Barcelona. No, that's not a joke.

Young attacker “desperate to prove himself in the Premier League” after a few seasons drifting around Europe.

STOKE CITY HAVE pulled off one of the most unlikely transfer coups of the summer so far, signing Bojan Krkic from Barcelona.

The 23-year-old graduate of Barca’s famed La Masia academy has agreed a four-year deal at the Britannia and will fly out immediately to join the Potters’ pre-season camp in Germany.

Bojan was rated as one of Europe’s top young talents and drew comparisons with Lionel Messi when he burst onto the scene as a 17-year-old at the Camp Nou.

He made more than 100 appearances but fell out of favour under Pep Guardiola and left to join Serie A club Roma in the summer of 2011.

Since then he has drifted between clubs with a spell on loan at AC Milan before he was re-signed by Barcelona and loaned out to Ajax last season.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes said: “Anyone who knows European football will be aware of him as a player and the fact that he sees his future at Stoke City is really exciting and an endorsement of the club itself.

“He’s desperate to prove himself in the Premier League and we’re pleased to be able to offer him that platform.”
