Stephen Quinn has been offered a new Hull contract, says Steve Bruce

The Dublin native has impressed this season in spite of the club investing in the summer.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND midfielder Stephen Quinn has been offered a new deal at Hull, according to manager Steve Bruce.

The 28 year-old’s current contract expires in June 2015 but he has impressed this season, making 9 top-flight appearances.

When Mo Diame and Hatem Ben Arfa arrived at the club in the summer, many wondered if Quinn would be frozen out but Bruce admitted earlier in the campaign that the Dubliner’s good form had given him a selection problem.

Stephen’s like a lot of the players who have been with me for a long time; he has seen the squad get bigger and better, and the one thing he has got to do is perform to a level that makes it very difficult for me [to leave him out],”

Though he excelled at the beginning of the campaign, Quinn hasn’t started a Hull league game since September. Whether it’s a coincidence or not, Bruce’s have struggled in recent weeks – the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday was their fourth in a row.

Quinn arrived at Hull in 2012 after seven years with Sheffield United.
