Ireland international Stephen Gleeson has sealed a move to Birmingham City

Gleeson joins Darren Randolph, Colin Doyle and Callum Reilly at St Andrew’s.

DUBLINER STEPHEN GLEESON will be playing Championship football next season after he signed a two-year deal with Birmingham City.

Gleeson, who won two senior Ireland caps as a youngster under Steve Staunton, moves from MK Dons on a free transfer.

Manager Lee Clark is looking to rebuild his squad after the Blues narrowly avoided relegation from English football’s second tier on the final day of last season, and has already signed defensive reinforcements in Jonathan Grounds and Grant Hall.

Gleeson, 25, moved to Wolves as youth and later signed professional terms at Molineux before moving on to Milton Keynes in 2009.

Good news, everybody: James Richardson has his croissants and coffee out for the World Cup
