STEPHEN FERRIS WILL play no part in Ireland’s winter internationals after he limped out of Ulster’s PRO12 win over Edinburgh at Ravenhill.
The forward received an ankle injury in the match and is expected to be missing for around a month.
Having made one of his trademark surges, the 27-year-old twisted his right leg awkwardly when he was tackled.
Ferris had to be helped from the pitch and his ankle was still badly swollen on Saturday.
The Lions star has had an unlucky run recently as he was recently sidelined with a back problem.
Ireland take on South Africa in Dublin next Saturday, and follow that up with a clash against Argentina two weeks later.
