IT WAS HARD to imagine Stephanie Roche’s superlative goal could get any better but the voice of soccer on RTÉ, George Hamilton, has added commentary to go alongside the grainy footage.
Earlier this week, Roche beat off stiff competition from some of the world’s best footballers to make the final three of Fifa’s Puskas Goal of the Year award.
Hamilton was speaking on the Derek Mooney Show on RTÉ Radio 1 this afternoon and his dulcet tones add a whole new dimension to the video.
The 25-year-old will attend the Ballon d’Or awards ceremony in Zurich on 12 January and is up against Robin van Persie and James Rodriguez for the prize.
