SPURS MANAGER HARRY Redknapp has said he believes Tottenham can win the league.
His comments come following his side’s comfortable 2-0 win over Aston Villa last night.
Most pundits have tipped either Man United or Man City to triumph in the league, and they currently occupy its top two places.
However, Redknapp says Spurs can pose a credible title challenge if they maintain their current run of form, telling reporters:
“The title is a possibility, it’s not impossible. If you keep winning matches and believe in yourself you will do it.“If we keep up [our] form, we’ll win the league, but it will be very hard.”
Redknapp also encouraged chairman Daniel Levy to offer Luka Modric a new contract, paying tribute to his talent in the process:
“I’m sure the chairman will do a new deal and look after him. Hopefully that will happen. You’ve got to look after him, he’s a top, top player. If he’s worth £40m, then he must be worth decent wages.“He has to be on good money because he’s a fantastic player.”
Tottenham currently sit in third position, nine points behind leaders Man City with a game in hand.
