Sports film of the week: Arnold’s Blueprint

The new 30 for 30 documentary from ESPN tells the story of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s early life.

Title: Arnold’s Blueprint (2012)

The plot: This is the first film of ESPN’s new 30 for 30 short documentary series and tells the story of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s life before he became the “Universe’s perfect specimen”.

Why it’s great: It’s directed by Michael and Jeff Zimbalist of ‘The Two Escobars’ fame and you really get to grips with just how much of a sacrifice Schwarzenegger made to reach the heady heights of Mr. Universe.

What the critics said: “The short documentary shows how [Schwarzenegger's early life] played a crucial role in shaping his world view” – Monsters and Critics.
