GIOVANNI TRAPATTONI WILL travel straight back to Italy after tonight’s World Cup qualifier.
Speculation that tonight’s meeting with the Faroe Islands will be the 73-year-old’s final game in charge of the national team continues to grow with the FAI believed to be ready to pay-off the remainder of his contract.
RTÉ commentator George Hamilton has tweeted that Trap’s sister is in hospital and this is the reason he’s heading straight home.
Trapattoni was scheduled to travel to Dublin to face the media for his usual briefing at the Clarion Hotel tomorrow evening but instead will now return to his homeland.
Ireland kick-off in Torshavn at 7pm this evening.
Nah! Its not a sign of a hopeful imminent departure. He just couldn’t give a toss.
Same old same old with more to come.
While I agree he should go as he has taken us as far as he can I still dont get the amount of abuse he gets this guy was so close to getting. us to.world cup.and got us to euros against all the odds I wish him well if he goes
And hopefully never seen again.
He’s brought us as far as I can. Fair play to him. The hatred for the man confuses me?? It’s time for him to go right enough
I don’t understand the abuse either. On a like with like basis we are 2 points ahead of Austria who drew away against kazak.. We have players who cannot get a game with their championship sides. I just don’t like the style of football.
championship sides.
