Snedeker, Rose climb golf rankings, Rory still on top

Snedeker claimed the $10 million on offer at the East Lake Golf Course with a three-stroke win ahead of Justin Rose.

TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP WINNER Brandt Snedeker moved into the top 10 of the men’s world golf rankings following his victory on Sunday.

Snedeker claimed the $10 million on offer at the East Lake Golf Course with a three-stroke win ahead of Justin Rose.

The American’s triumph also saw him clinch the overall FedEx Cup and crack the top 10 for the first time in his career after starting the week as world number 18. Rose, meanwhile, jumped from ninth to fifth on the official rankings – also a career-high for him.

The Englishman, who secured a fifth top-five finish of the season on Sunday, was the only other top-10 player to enhance his position.

World number one Rory McIlroy remains at the top for a seventh successive week, despite finishing in a tie for 10th at the Tour Championship, while Australia’s Adam Scott dropped down from fifth to sixth.

American Steve Stricker fell outside of the top 10 and down to 12th following his 22nd-place finish.
