RIO FERDINAND DEFIED his defied his manager to snub the Kick It Out t-shirt campaign before kick-off at Old Trafford this afternoon.
Alex Ferguson told media this week that all his players would wear the top in support of the anti-racism campaign.
On the same day that Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck apologised to the Ferdinand family for the ordeal they’ve endured since John Terry sparked a race row 12 months ago, the Red Devils defender carried out his threat not to support the initiative.
Reading striker Jason Roberts also followed though on his vow not to wear one of the t-shirts in the warm-up at Anfield in protest at what he perceives to be a lack of action by the organisation in combating racism in football.
