It’s ridiculous that O’Callaghan is starting instead of Ryan. Irish provinces are dominating Europe (including the French teams) with the young guns. Kidney’s head is buried in the sand
isn’t it strange how everyone wants kidney out…he was the dream coach when Eddie fucked up…the best out there ….he brought us a grand slam….and now is it time to go… who is available to take over
Cut out the negativity lads. Its when people say we can’t, that drives people in this country unfortunately. That is, the genuine people. We have serious forwards that for some reason did not click the last day, a good scrum half although young and taught a lesson the last day, he’s still very good. Sexton needs fine tuning(but when youve a perfectionist like o Gara, that has been there and done it, it’s hard for the lad) and a good back line which we have, we are not in too bad shape. I reckon this Irish team will click, and when it does all of those lines will come right. We got beat by a good Wales team, if we got the simple things right, and players played to their reputation, we would have won. Stupid mistakes in any walk of life cost ya. We have a chance, granted no more than a chance, but let’s not be too hard. I have never played rugby but watch it alot. So I guess the lads who played it will have a different view, but there’s no point in been down. We’ve bunch of players who do their upmost and sometimes fall short. But they really do not owe us anything. But we live in hope. As bill shankley said about Liverpool, if your not prepared to support us when we lose, then don’t support us when we win. EIRE ABU
I’m not being negative, nobody will be cheering for Ire more tonight than I. Declan Kidney is too conservative and these players are not bringing their provincial form into this Ire set up.
i can’t see how we can up our game enough from last week. I can’t ever remember us letting a team waltz up the pitch like the welsh did last week. The french wont be shaking in their boots. I expect them to hold onto the ball and run straight at us. The bookies wont be far off the mark. I hope I’m wrong but ….
After last week, can’t see Ire win in Paris. Even if they do put in a big performance, it should not paper over the many things that are wrong with this Irish team.
It’s time for change, we are not progressing under Declan Kidney.
Kidney was fine for that era in Irish rugby when the wonderful Munster/Irish passion was paramount. The Irish provincial teams have moved on in terms of skill level, confidence and professionalism and Kidney lacks the vision and technique to exploit that and meld it with the passion that has been the hallmark of Irish rugby as Schmidt has done for Leinster. Goodbye and thanks Declan!
I think that’s a fair shout.2 coaches have the basically the same group if players but can’t achieve the same success. I’m not calling for Kidney’s head but you have to wonder as other teams improve does he have the ability to devise a system to keep pace with them. We’ve never had a better group of players and I think we should have a bigger trophy haul to reflect that.
Afraid Brendan isnt on tonight. IFTAS are on instead I think. As for the game I think the bookies have France to win by 10 and I think that’s prob about right. Hope the game goes ahead. For anyone inteterested in u20 game RTE are streaming it live around 1pm I think.

I don’t think you can blame Declan Kidney for what happened last week. Ferris losing the head is not something you can deal with in advance. I hope we do well tonight and hold out for a victorious defeat (like the old days) or a win. Good luck, lads.

Same old, same old! Paddy Wallace called up as a replacement! Time to go Declan!

well said vinny

i can’t see how we can up our game enough from last week. I can’t ever remember us letting a team waltz up the pitch like the welsh did last week. The french wont be shaking in their boots. I expect them to hold onto the ball and run straight at us. The bookies wont be far off the mark. I hope I’m wrong but ….
Comprehensive defeat followed (hopefully) by Kidney’s departure from the job in the next few days.
if they have woken up…. win. ho no wait declan kidney is still in charge.
Badly…but you never know when this lot decide to play.
Bookies odd are 1/5 against. Only chance is to produce a ‘ – v – Australia’ performance. Unlikely. Still, hope beats eternally in the human breast!
After last week, can’t see Ire win in Paris. Even if they do put in a big performance, it should not paper over the many things that are wrong with this Irish team.
It’s time for change, we are not progressing under Declan Kidney.

Afraid Brendan isnt on tonight. IFTAS are on instead I think. As for the game I think the bookies have France to win by 10 and I think that’s prob about right. Hope the game goes ahead. For anyone inteterested in u20 game RTE are streaming it live around 1pm I think.
Thanks, Tiger – that’s my Saturday night ruined one way or the other…
This figures are wrong. Ireland is only 7/2.
Struggling to make a case for us. But if and i hope they are hurting from last week. If that’s the case i can still see us as gallant losers
Ireland to win without any doubt at all. This thread is full of people that have no faith…
cmon our green heroes do us proud
Call me naive, but I think Ireland will put in a good performance today. I think they tend to play better as underdogs against good competition. I still think we will lose, but that we will see signs for hope.
Declan Kidney won a grand slam with Eddie o sullivans team lets get that straight the team has altered marginally since then kidney has always been a conservative coach hence he did not cut the mustard at Leinster after this six nations we need to look at a new coaching set up we have great youth at our disposal never tested if we are to have a future we need to blood these players paddy Wallace our future number ten what are you thinking kidney we will lose tonight and kidney will need a win against Italy so no changes irrespective of how people play tonight
If 2 things happen today we can have a serious go at the game..If the forwards protect Murray at the bresakdown and Sexton manages to kick something we ll be sucking diesel
Would like to have seen Mc Fadden and Earls in the centre. Don’t see how this week will be any different with largely the same team. The french back row will stifle us at the breakdown and Dusatoir will eat up the runners, it doesn’t look good!
Big huge ask of the team but they can do it…everything is stacked against then which is known to give then a spark…they’ll need a lightning bolt to beat the French at home – but I’m not ruling then out until the games done…stranger things have happened!!
I don’t think you can blame Declan Kidney for what happened last week. Ferris losing the head is not something you can deal with in advance. I hope we do well tonight and hold out for a victorious defeat (like the old days) or a win. Good luck, lads.
we will win by 3
U complain about Kidney but we had to stand Lièvremont (even if we don’t forget he led the squad to Grand Slam + RWC final). At the end all rely on players themselves.
It won’t be played tonight.
I have a good feeling about it. I think we will take a narrow win.
Losing in the last 5, to score a winning try on the wing.
Couldnt give a tinkers curse how they get on.
Well don’t comment on this then….
Kidney is like a man with a set of keys.
He tries the first key, it doesn’t open the lock, now here’s where most people try the second key but not our Declan he tries the first key again, learned from his mistake and try another key? Na not this time the first key will work thinks kidney. Everyone else ” try a new key Declan” .

Eire will win…

ireland might just win thus if they can keep it tight and johnno takes his chances. It will be a big win if they can do it.
