BOOKMAKERS HAVE TODAY suspended betting on Clare and Tipperary’s hurling icons Jamesie O’Connor and Nicky English signing on for hurling punditry roles with Sky Sports.
The duo have been tipped to fill roles with the broadcaster who are entering the GAA TV rights market for the first time this summer. The Leinster championship meeting between Kilkenny and Offaly on June 7th is their opening game.
O’Connor and English had been available at odds of 7/2 and 9/4 respectively yesterday morning but were backed into odds on this morning before Paddy Powerpulled the plug.
Sky Sports are set to formally announce their GAA presenters next Monday morning in Croke Park. Rachel Wyse is expected to front Sky’s coverage while Paul Galvin and Peter Canavan are tipped to be the football pundits.
