Here's your GAA coverage on TV and Radio this weekend as Sky Sports prepares for debut

There’s plenty to watch on the box and listen to on the airwaves this weekend.

SKY SPORTS MAKES its debut tomorrow in the world of live GAA coverage, broadcasting from Nowlan Park for the Leinster senior hurling quarter-final between Kilkenny and Offaly.

It’s a massive weekend of GAA championship action with eight major games down for decision with Sky’s arrival taking centre stage.

But there’s plenty of coverage elsewhere and here’s a breakdown of what you need to tune in for over the weekend.

Saturday

Leinster SHC quarter-final
Kilkenny v Offaly, Nowlan Park, 7pm

Check out Sky Sports 3 from 6.30pm for this one. Rachel Wyse and Brian Carney present with Mike Finnerty and Nicky English on commentary duty. Jamesie O’Connor and Ollie Canning will provide the analysis. There’ll be local radio commentary from KCLR FM.

Leinster SFC quarter-final
Longford v Wexford, Pearse Park, 7pm

There’s live commentary of the game on Newstalk with Dave McIntyre commentating with David Brady, Billy Joe Padden and Colm Parkinson providing the analysis.

Munster SFC quarter-final
Clare v Waterford, Cusack Park, 7pm

Local radio coverage for this one from Clare FM and WLR.

Sunday

Connacht SFC semi-final
Roscommon v Mayo, Dr Hyde Park, 2pm

There’s live coverage on The Sunday Game on RTÉ 2 from Dr Hyde Park with Michael Lyster presenting while Colm O’Rourke, Pat Spillane and Joe Brolly provide analysis. Marty Morrissey is commentating alongside Kevin McStay. Local radio commentary will be available on Shannonside FM and Midwest Radio.

The live national radio commentary of this game is on Newstalk with Dave McIntyre commentating while Liam McHale, Michael Meehan and Colm Parkinson are the pundits on duty.

Leinster SFC quarter-finals
Louth v Kildare, Croke Park, 2pm
Dublin v Laois, Croke Park, 4pm

The Dublin Laois match will be broadcast on The Sunday Game on RTÉ 2 with the same studio panel while Darragh Maloney is on commentary duty alongside Martin Carney.

Newstalk’s coverage for the two games will be provided by Mossy Quinn, who will be at the game for them. For Kildare Louth, check out KFM and LMFM for live commentary.

Munster SHC quarter-final replay
Cork v Waterford, Semple Stadium, 3.30pm

Ger Canning is doing the live radio commentary for this game for RTÉ Radio 1 with Jamesie O’Connor reporting for Newstalk. Local radio coverage will be provided by C103 and WLR. The game will also be available on RTE.ie.

Ulster SFC quarter-final
Armagh v Cavan, Athletic Grounds, 4pm

Billy Joe Padden is reporting on this game for Newstalk.

The Sunday Game, RTÉ 2, 9.30pm
- The Sunday Game night time highlights show is extended to 11.30pm this week due to the amount of games scheduled for this week. Des Cahill presents with Ciaran Whelan and Tomas Ó Sé on the football panel while Brendan Cummins and Ger Loughnane are on the hurling panel.

All eight senior provincial championship games will feature including the finals of tomorrow’s Christy Ring Cup, the Nicky Rackard Cup and the Lory Meagher Cup.
