GET YOUR TICKETS now for the Munster hurling clash between Cork and Tipperary in 2025 โ you might just see some tricks and flicks from Simon Zebo.
The Munster winger revealed on Newstalkโs Off the Ball show last night that he harbours ambitions of an inter-county hurling career with his native Cork.
Speaking to host Ger Gilroy, Zebo said hurling and rugby share his sporting affections. He also relived memories of his hurling days with Blackrock.
He said, โAfter I hang up the boots with rugby, I could give it a go with hurling.โ
Zebo hopes to pass a fitness test next week to be in contention for Munsterโs Heineken Cup quarter-final clash with Harlequins, on 7 April.
He explained that playing Gaelic football and hurling helped his rugby game as it improves hand-eye coordination and physical conditioning. He commented:
Playing GAA, you have to be a little tough. Taking a couple of hurleys across the shins, that toughens you up.โ
Simon also spoke about his famous boot flick to keep an Irish attack alive in the lead-up to Cian Healyโs try against Wales.
He commented, โIt was a bit of instinctโฆ I was glad Cian scored after to make it look a little better.โ

He wouldnโt have the skill required for hurling.
What are you on about? He was a grand hurler for Blackrock before the he gave his full commitment to rugby and theyโd only love to have him back.
Jealousyโs a bitch Michael.
