Shoulder injury could end Cavanagh's season

Four-time All-Star now a significant doubt for the International Rules Series.

TYRONE’S SEAN CAVANAGH could be facing up to six months on the sidelines after damaging his shoulder while lifting weights last week, Teamtalkmag reports.

The 28-year-old travels to Dublin today where he will undergo surgery on a detached tendon.

If the injury is as serious as expected, Cavanagh will be ruled out of this autumn’s International Rules Series in Australia as well as the entirety of the Tyrone senior football championship.

Cavanagh’s club Moy begin their campaign against 2009 champions Dromore on Friday.
