Shots fired: Alan Pardew calls for Alex Ferguson ban

The Newcastle United boss says referee Mike Dean will be ‘disappointed’ with himself.

ALAN PARDEW SAYS his Manchester United counterpart Alex Ferguson should be banned for his remonstrations at the officials.

Ferguson was angry at Mike Dean’s decision to overrule linesman Jake Collin’s offside call and allow Jonny Evans’ own goal to stand in the 4-3 win over Newcastle on Boxing Day.

The referee chose not to send the Scot to the stands and has left his altercations with the manager out of his post-match report, but Pardew feels the Football Association should take retrospective action.

He told reporters: “I think Mike Dean might feel slightly disappointed he didn’t do something about it. I think the pressure that was on him was tough for a referee to take. Sometimes when you reflect on a game you think you might have acted differently. You do that as a manager and I think he might have done that as a referee.

“But it’s an emotional game and apparently they had a cordial discussion. I’ve had a few of those myself and sometimes I’ve ended up in the stands as a result of that cordial discussion.”

Pardew was also aggrieved the FA missed Robin van Persie’s alleged strike to the face of Newcastle defender Fabricio Coloccini.

“I think there were a lot of things the FA could look at. But it seems they are looking at none,” he said.

Pardew’s comments come in the aftermath of the FA’s decision to investigate statements made in post-match interviews by Manchester City’s Roberto Mancini and Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp in their team’s recent losses to Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion.

So of the referee deems ferguson to have not insulted him he should be banned, what a joke if fergie said something that insulted him then the ref would have put it in the report

How did Fergie attack the referee? He had a discussion with him. Okay so Fergie wasn’t happy with the referee but did he use abusive language? Did he insult the referee? No because if he had then the referee would have reported him. What is a manager supposed to do anyway? Sit there and take it if a referee makes a mistake? If a player makes a mistake that costs his team then he probably gets dropped but if a referee makes a mistake, more often than not, nothing happens. I reckon the FA should allow the referees to be interviewed after a game to explain why they made this decision or that decision. Players and managers have to so why not referees? As for Pardew, It looks to me like he is just trying to deflect away from the fact that his team conceded four goals and lost the game. They are a shadow of the team they were last season. Oh and Pardew is hardly whiter than white himself. At least Fergie doesn’t go around pushing over Fourth Officials like Pardew did last season!!

How doesn’t a manager doesn’t get a ban for what ferguson did? not just attacking the referee but the linesman & the fourth official, gets away scot free, if that was any other manager they would of got a ban no question!!!!
