PAUL CROWLEY IS set for a reunion with his old boss Alan Mathews.
Crowley was among the latest bunch of new recruits confirmed by Shelbourne on Monday, joining former St Patrick’s Athletic striker Dean Kelly and Adam Hanlon of Bray Wanderers in Tolka Park next season.
The 30-year-old captained Drogheda United last year as Mick Cooke’s men finished four points behind Sligo Rovers as Premier Division runners-up, and also claimed the club’s first silverware in five seasons when they lifted the EA Sports Cup.
After a fitting end to Crowley’s second spell with Drogs the midfielder will be reunited with Mathews, the man who first brought him to Hunky Dorys Park from Dundalk in 2009.
Kelly, 27, crosses the River Liffey to join Shels following a disappointing season with St Pat’s. The Dubliner was used sparingly by Liam Buckley and couldn’t nail down a regular place in the Saints’ starting line-up.
Hanlon leaves Bray following one season with the Seagulls. The 20-year-old winger joined from Arklow Town in January 2012.
The trio take Shels’ confirmed squad for next season to nine in total. Glen Cronin, Philly Hughes and Stephen Hurley have all been re-signed from last season’s panel alongside newcomers Pat Flynn, Sean Brennan and Jack Memery.
