Those are the words of Shane Warne right before he goes and takes a wicket, prompting his opponent to brand him “the oracle”.
Talking to Fox Sports Australia commentators via microphones during the Twenty20 game between the Melbourne Stars and the Brisbane Heat, the former Australian international explains that he fancies bowling out New Zealand batsman Brendon McCullum.
“I think he might be trying to shape to sweep one after that first one,” says Warne, before stepping up and hitting the middle stump.
“”He’s still got it. He’s the oracle isn’t he? He’s a genius,” McCullum said on Sky News Australia.
“I was just trying to pay the respect by looking to play a fine lap shot to get off strike and attack the other guys.
“He’s just too good, I got beaten to the punch by the world’s greatest player, there’s no harm in that.”
42-year-old Warne recently made his return to professional cricket after coming out of retirement.
