'Have you got his number?' - Louis Walsh asks about Clare's Shane O'Donnell

If the hurling doesn’t work out, the All-Ireland final hero could always join a boyband.

SHANE O’DONNELL HAS shot to stardom in the wake of scoring 3-3 to lead Clare to victory in the All-Ireland senior hurling championship final on Saturday.

The 19-year-old’s youthful good looks mean he wouldn’t be out of place alongside that lot from One Direction and, going by the picture below, you would be forgiven for mistaking the Banner’s homecoming for a boyband concert:

And, during yesterday’s edition of new TV3 programme Late Lunch Live, co-host Martin King pitched the idea of taking O’Donnell and a couple of his team-mates to form ‘Mid-Westlife’ to Irish pop guru Louis Walsh.
