SEPP BLATTER’S TWITTER account has been hacked this evening, as it has begun to persistently make reference to his controversial past.
The hacker initially impersonated the FIFA President, indicating he was set to resign, before a series of increasingly improbable tweets led users of the site to conclude that the account had been hacked.
The account alleged that Blatter was corrupt and also made reference to the Syrian Electronic Army’s Twitter account, indicating they may be behind this stunt.
FIFA then responded, confirming that the account had been hacked, and tweeting:
“Some FIFA accounts, incl. @SeppBlatter and @fifaworldcup, have been hacked. If in doubt, please verify any info with FIFA office.”
