LIONS COACH WARREN GATLAND declared after his side lost the Second Test to Australia that he wanted his players to switch off from rugby for two days before focusing on winning the series.
We’re not sure if he meant for Sean O’Brien and Brian O’Driscoll to tweet out embarrassing pictures of each other to their tens of thousands of followers but whatever gets you through the Australian night…
It all started when O’Driscoll tweeted this meme:
The outside centre tweeted out another picture of the Tullow Tank conversing with ladies at the beach and one of the Carlow native posing beside some cattle on his farm. The triple barrel banter forced O’Brien to respond with a tweeted pictures of ‘Greased Lightning’ O’Driscoll in a leather jacket and with his flowing blonde hair, circa 2003-04.
O’Brien took the banter biscuit with this picture of a topless BO’D in The Fiddler Bar in Auckland at the end of Ireland’s two-Test tour to New Zealand in 2006:
O’Driscoll, who is expected to lead the Lions against the Wallabies on Saturday, was not taking that lying down . He tweeted ‘Hard to keep the weight off @SeanOBrien1987 when you’re injured huh?!’ with this picture:
Both players will be resting up tonight ahead of a big day of training tomorrow. It remains to be seen if the battle is over yet but our advice to avid followers is to keep an eye of Twitter.
