IRELAND MAY BE making light work of the Six Nations, despite his absence, but that’s no reason to let Valentine’s Day pass without a special birthday wish for Sean O’Brien who turns 27 today.
One of the rare players who is respected in all four warring provinces in Ireland, the flanker is all things to all men. So because not everybody has what it takes to run a farm, here’s a magnificent seven other ways to be just like Seanie.
1. Make ‘em laugh
2. Don’t let anybody get in your way
When life presents you with a hurdle, simply bash through it. Easy.
3. Be versatile
And we’re not just talking about 6, 7 and 8.
4. But remember, you can’t do it all by yourself
‘Giddy up, Tom’
5. Be more sexy!
Prime Carlow beef, right there.
6. Don’t let anybody badmouth your home town
When RTE’s six-part documentary Stone Cold Sober featured hard-drinking young bucks from Tullow. The town Tank had this to tell the Irish Examiner about the group’s assertions that boredom of the area had driven them to drink.
“I wouldn’t be too pleased with the documentary. There is a lot to do around there (if people want to).“I won’t be appearing on the show, I do know a few of the people, I was in school with two of them but I won’t speak to them (in future), and I’ll tell them that as well.”
We would not like to be those six lads.
7. Give as good as you get
