TYRONE HAVE BEEN rocked by the news that Sean Cavanagh could miss their Ulster SFC quarter-final against Armagh on Sunday, 10 June.
The 2008 Footballer of the Year sustained a shoulder injury while playing for his club Moy against Derrytresk in a Division Two league encounter on Sunday.
Cavanagh – winner if three All-Ireland medals – had to be treated on the pitch before being taken away in an ambulance.
The 29-year-old full-forward had an operation on a detached tendon in his shoulder in 2011 and only returned to action last March.
The full extent of this latest injury is yet to be revealed and it is not known if the same shoulder is affected that kept Cavanagh out for so long last time.
He now joins Ronan O’Neill, Kyle Coney and Tommy McGuigan on the Red Hand’s injury list, while Davy Harte is battling to overcome a groin injury in time to play against Armagh.
