German footballer summons his inner Rooney to rasp in wonder goal

The Aalen midfielder let rip from 25 yards out.

GERMAN FOOTBALLER SACHA TRAUT lit up a Bundesliga second division clash between Aalen and Cottbus this afternoon with this sumptuous volley.

The midfielder’s early goal put Aalen 1-0 up before Cottbus squared affairs after 10 minutes. The home side took the lead again, through Oliver Barth, but Cottbus snatched a point with a Sven Michel goal three minutes into injury time.

The Traut goal is reminiscent of Wayne Rooney’s volley against Newcastle in 2005:
