Pool 1
Saracens 28
Sale Sharks 14
SARACENS LEAP-FROGGED THEIR Pool 1 rivals Munster and Clermont to take over top spot in the Champions Cup grouping.
However, Mark McCall’s side did not manage to take a bonus point from the home fixture with tries coming from Alex Goode, Ben Ransom and Billy Vunipola as last season’s beaten finalists pulled away from the Sharks.
Sale replied with scores from Nathan Hines and Eifion Lewis-Roberts, but after trailing 11 – 8 at the break, they could not keep pace with Saracens as the game wore on.
Pool 5
Racing 16
Ospreys 14
Ospreys once again staged a gutsy comeback but there was to be no reward in Paris this evening.
Eli Walker’s try after 70 minutes helped the Welsh side to within a point of Racing Metro with the score 15 – 14. However, the Top 14 side managed to keep their cool and sealed victory with a Johannes Goosen penalty on full time.
Racing had taken a 15 - 0 lead into the half-time break thanks to tries from Juan Imhoff and Teddy Thomas. But two yellow cards in the opening 10 minutes of the second period (for Antonie Claasen and Maxime Machenaud) invited Ospreys back in to the game.
Rhys Webb narrowed the gap with a try on 51 minutes, but the visitors could not reel in their hosts.

Treviso 0
Northampton Saints embarrassed Treviso with an 11-try rout at Franklin’s Gardens.
