Poll: Is Pat Spillane a saint or sinner?

On St. Patrick’s Day we ask is his Kerry namesake a saint or sinner.

PAT SPILLANE HAD the kind of success in his career most players can only dream of.

Between 1975 and 1991, the Templenoe native won an impressive eight All-Ireland titles, as well as 11 Munster titles, nine All-Stars and two National Football Leagues, scoring 180 points – including 19 goals – in 56 appearances in the green and gold of Kerry.

Since his retirement, Spillane has become a regular fixture on The Sunday Game and developed a reputation as one of the most outspoken analysts in the game, making few fans in Ulster by describing the style of play of some of their teams as “puke football”.
