Ruby ruled out of Galway by neck injury

Jockey expected to be out of action until September after bad fall.

RUBY WALSH IS facing at least a further two months on the sideline after his terrible run of luck with injuries continued at Killarney last night.

The Kildare man crushed a vertbra and tore a ligament in his neck when Michael Hourigan’s Friendly Society, his mount in the Race Club At The Malton Handicap Hurdle, crashed through the first fence.

Walsh’s sister and agent, Jennifer, confirmed her brother’s injuries to AtTheRaces.com after the jockey had been examined at Cork University Hospital last night.

He will be out of action until Listowel Festival time [September] and is currently wearing a collar-support around his neck.
