'A lot of overreaction' says Roy Keane but mind not changed on Nani red

ITV football host Adrian Chiles said the midfielder’s challenge ‘gets redder the more I look at it’.

IRISH FOOTBALL SUPPORTERS will be well aware of Roy Keane’s unwillingness to take a backward step.

The former Manchester United and Ireland midfielder was in typically brusque and honest manner on ITV’s football punditry coach this afternoon.

Responding to criticism he received following his comments that Luis Nani deserved to see red for his aerial challenge on Alvaro Arbeloa, last Tuesday, Keane remarked that there had been ‘a lot of overreaction’ to his comments.

He refused to retract his midweek comments and, instead, highlighted Manchester United’s inability to react to being reduced to 10 men against Real Madrid [United lost 2-1].

He added that the current United squad is the most talented he has seen but he questioned their collective fight.
