CORK AND KILKENNY produced some excellent hurling at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday afternoon, the Rebels beating Brian Cody’s men by two points in the finish.

Both sides had men sent off in the opening half, with Shane O’Sullivan and Galway corner-back Declan Connolly both walking, with Waterford going into the break 0-8 to 0-5 up.
A goal from Shane Walsh, six minutes into the second half, put Waterford just that bit too far ahead of Galway. Walsh flicked Mullane’s hand-pass past James Skehill.
A double from Barry Ryan and a great effort from substitute Brian Flaherty almost saw Galway come back into it, but time elapsed as Walsh’s late point sealed the win.
