RORY MCILROY cruised to victory at the US Open at Congressional yesterday, breaking the tournament record by winning with a lead of eight strokes.
McIlroy broke the US Open scoring record earlier in the tournament with a 16-under par score of 268. The Holywood, Co Down, native is also the youngest player to win the championship since 1923.
