RORY MCILROY HAS ended his association with Horizon Sports Management and will instead by managed by Rory McIlroy Incorporated.
In a statement issued this afternoon, it was revealed that the termination of his contract with Horizon is being dealt with by “a legal team led by A&L Goodbody.”

The business interests of the 24-year-old will now be managed by Rory McIlroy Incorporated, with Donal Casey, an actuary by profession with “many years of CEO experience”, acting as the compacy’s CEO.
The Rory Foundation for charity will be run by Barry Funston, a business leader and long-time friend of the McIlroy family. Funston and Casey will serve on the RMI Board, along with Gerry McIlroy.
It’s less than two years since McIlroy joined Conor Ridge’s Horizon, but it has been a largely turbulent period. The former US Open champion will be hoping that this change in management results in a return to his best form.
However, Horizon have released a statement of their own in response, claiming that the “current management contract has a number of years to run.”
The Irish firm expressed their disappointment at McIlroy’s words, saying:
“Horizon has achieved exceptional results for Rory in realising his commercial objectives. Under Horizon’s management, Rory has signed some of the most lucrative endorsements in sports history.”
The statement finishes by stating that “Rory’s decision to seek a termination of the management contract with Horizon is now regrettably in the hands of legal advisors.”
This is why he’s going backwards. He got to world number one from practicing obsessively. When he got there he hit the social scene, fell out with a management company, blamed new clubs and has now fallen out with another management company.
Rory would do well to take the most simple advice of all – go back to basics.
Yeah yeah, it’s everybody’s fault but mine…..Might want to start taking responsibility for his own performances rather than offering the usual generic excuses and playing the blame game.
Ah would you all shut up and give the guy a break, he is only 24 and already a multiple major winner what have you all done with your lives so far- nothing in comparison to that I would guess! Begrudging B’s!
@Richard.
I’ve been civil to people and shown respect to people, which is more than this ignorant excuse for a human being will ever do if he lives til he’s a hundred.
Total spanner, he wad laughing in Nothern Ireland as his fans turned out in the lashing rain to watch him put ball after ball in the rough. What a complete dick!
Its mad how people get so obsessed with what’s happening, or written to be happening to celebs/sports stars etc.
As far ad I can make out, the boy is a huge talent. Nike took a punt…..
People change jobs even relationships if they feel they’ll be better served elsewhere!
Rorys foundation does and I hope with his successes, continue to do great work behind the scenes.
He’s always appeared to me to be polite and open and honest.
Lets hope he gets back to winning ways and does himself and this island proud.
I wonder how I’d fare under that spot light? Probably not as well as Rors.
Who cares? Once he’s in the reckoning come every Sunday of the majors so we can all jump aboard the bandwagon then does any of his commercial dealings really matter to everyone here? Ye he’s playing crap right now because of all this off course nonsense but sure that will turn around for him inevitably!
Chill everyone for God’s sake, Rory has been incredible, hit a slump, who cares… he’ll be back… simply too good not to be… not really anyones business wot he wants, does or who manages him…. get over it as your way over critical in the main.

I’m beginning to think more and more that success went straight to his brain and destroyed its cells
So it’s not the Nike clubs then.
One question what will change this time next year if his form remains the same of deteriorates even more? His hairstylist?
This is why he’s going backwards. He got to world number one from practicing obsessively. When he got there he hit the social scene, fell out with a management company, blamed new clubs and has now fallen out with another management company.

I’d say you are such an inspirational character Shane, you can just tell from your post!
Why so antagonistic?? Don’t be a fool!!
What a little sh!t. Horizon get him $19million from Nike then he drops them in time so doesn’t pay commision. Sound Rory.
Total spanner, he wad laughing in Nothern Ireland as his fans turned out in the lashing rain to watch him put ball after ball in the rough. What a complete dick!
Sure the company even have the same name as him…..what are the chances?!!?
Please retire you waste of space
Stay classy Steo!
