REAL MADRID WERE beaten 1-0 in the Spanish Super Cup second leg last night to lose the tie 2-1 on aggregate but away from the main action was this Cristiano Ronaldo mini-haymaker.
Diego Godin may have made the most of the punch, but there is no question that Ronaldo made decent contact with the defender’s face. The Portuguese striker wasn’t sent off for the incident, and he can probably count himself a little lucky that he stayed on the pitch.
Where does that rank among the greatest sporting punches? Personally, I like Manu Tuilagi’s hammer on Chris Ashton because he is fulfilling a lifelong dream many of us have in clocking the preening winger. (Go to 35 seconds for the super slow motion shot.)
