Trap doen’t like shane long for some reason, he has recieved a terrible raw deal for Ireland. He is the one playing at the highest level and performing best but still hardly ever gets a look in.

David Forde played 4 games as a centre forward at U-14 level, he scored 1 goal. Trap is confident he has the “personality” to do a job for us up there.

Anyway, a stadium of Irish drunks deliriously celebrating a loss is not an indication of anything…I’m waiting for the celebrations and Fields of Athenry again tomorrow when Ireland are trounced 0-5…cringe :(

If falling around the streets 24 hrs a day blind drunk is your idea of dignified behavior, OK. If a stadium of Irish drunks are so off their faces (or just stupid) that they celebrate being beaten very badly at every game and applaud their players for embarrassingly bad and effortless performances, OK. If Irish fans receiving a ‘special ‘ award by a Polish city (who gave the same award to two other countries) for tourism makes you think the Irish fans got “widespread worldwide acclaim” OK. I actually read the International press, and I can assure you the only widespread worldwide acclaim was for Ireland being drunken fools and celebrating defeat….The largest Polish satirical TV show even had a satire of the Irish blind drunk, vomiting all over the place and celebrating losing the game, the end of the Euro, Mayan 2012 etc….Fools, absolute fools!!!

Don’t read the Daily mail John or any other tabloids either. And unlike you I didn’t see all of this on TV I was actually at a game. Quick tip for you -don’t believe everything you read in the newspapers-quite a lot of it is sensationalised crap

Robbie Keane got every plaudit from every Irish fan when he was in his prime, nobody can doubt his scoring achievements but he’s past his best as a starting forward especially in a game where it looks like he’d be a lone striker.
It’s traps misguided loyalty which sees him as a shoe in for every match regardless, relegate him to a sub and we’ll soon see how hungry he is in a green jersey once more….maybe.

Of course he’s past his best, Dermot but he’s far from over the hill. 7 goals in the last campaign alone – Kevin Doyle has only scored 12 in 52 games. Not that that’s a bad record, it just goes to show how many goals Robbie comes up with.

I’m not suggesting he’s dropped completely, he has something to offer as a sub but if we’re hoping to build a team for the future it’s high time Keane was dropped to the bench, as it stands he’s automatic first choice but that’s more to do with his loyalty to Trap and vice versa…he doesn’t have to do anything, he knows Trap will always pick him which is not the way to manage a team.
An awful lot of people are hoping Shane Long gets the start he deserves but knowing Trap he’ll go with Simon Cox continuing his policy of picking players he’s loyal too rather than picking them on form or skill contradicting the long held managerial mantra of always picking your best 11.

Keane’s best days are well behind him. A decent finisher but he was never tactically or technically gifted. He played on instinct and to get the best out of him it took a technically gifted playmaker like D B at spurs. He offers little or nothing in link play and is poor at bringing others into the game.

He wouldn’t even get a game in tallaght now. Good riddance and I hope he joins duff. Ps I won’t be buying his book either
