Snapshot: Richardt Strauss is back training with Leinster

The South African hooker is keeping on top of his fitness after he underwent surgery on his heart.

HEARTENING PICTURES FROM Leinster’s training session out at Rosemount, UCD this afternoon as hooker Richardt Strauss trained with his teammates.

The South African-born Ireland international underwent surgery last month to correct a heart condition that was assessed earlier in the season. No set date has been made for Strauss’ playing comeback but he will, no doubt, be happy to be back in the fraternal mix at Leinster.

Leinster issued an injury update today, revealing that Andrew Goodman has suffered a setback in his rehabilitation. He will now require surgery on his Achilles tendon and is set to be sidelined ‘for the next few months’.

Club captain Leo Cullen was also pictured in training but is several weeks off a playing return. Leinster do hope to have Jordi Murphy available from December onward.

Shane Jennings, who was called up by Ireland as training cover last week, also trained with his province.
