Really? The pioneering new boots that are aiding CR9's incredible form

The Portuguese winger’s new footwear makes use of camouflage technology. Fancy.

IN WHAT IS being dubiously dubbed as Cristiano Ronaldo’s mission ‘to reclaim his position as the world’s best soccer player,’ the star possesses at least one asset which his main rival Lionel Messi lacks – camouflage technology.

The Real Madrid star has been putting in consistently excellent displays this season, scoring 17 goals in 15 appearances – feats that have been enhanced by his innovative new footwear.

The Nike CR Mercurial Vapor Superfly III make it seem as if Ronaldo is about to turn in one direction, when he is in fact about to turn the other way.

In an interview with ThePostGame.com, the boots’ designer Andrew Caine explained:

“The movement of feet is something a lot of players are looking to see. If you are a defender looking at Cristiano, you are going to visually see which way his body is going to move to combat him. So the idea of having a play on the visual makes it a little bit more difficult to understand and read the body’s moves to see where he will go. Visual deception is the play on this one.”

Despite his boots’ impressive features however, they were unable to help the winger last Saturday, as his Real Madrid team were beaten 3-1 by Barcelona.
