THE GAA WILL hold the draw for this year’s All-Ireland senior hurling quarter-finals on Monday morning and will seek to avoid repeat clashes from this year’s provincial action.
The draw for the quarter-finals will see in Bowl 1, the beaten Leinster finalists Galway and the beaten Munster finalists, either Cork or Limerick.
In Bowl 2, the teams will be the winners of tomorrow’s Phase 3 qualifiers in the All-Ireland senior hurling championship when Clare face Wexford and Kilkenny meet Waterford.
The only potential pairing that has already happened and cannot happen again is Cork v Clare as the counties clashed in last month’s Munster semi-final in the Gaelic Grounds.
As a result if Clare win tomorrow and Cork lose on Sunday to ensure both counties are in the draw, the quarter-final pairings will already be determined.
In that scenario the pairings will be:
Cork v Kilkenny/Waterford.Galway v Clare.
The draw will take place on Monday morning on RTE’s Morning Ireland programme.
