El Clasico: Here’s all the goals you missed in Real Madrid’s big win over Barca tonight

Things aren’t looking too good at Barcelona all of a sudden.

CRISTIANO RONALDO CONTINUED his fine goal scoring record at the Nou Camp with a brace as Real Madrid beat Barcelona 3-1 to go through to the final of the Copa del Rey 4-2 on aggregate.

The Portuguese hit a first-half penalty…

….and then knocked in a rebound after the break as Real took full advantage of their counter-attacks:

Raphael Varane headed the third after 68 minutes:

While Barcelona did get a consolation goal — if that’s what it is — through Jordi Alba.

Real Madrid will now take on the winners of Sevilla and Atletico Madrid who play tomorrow, the capital side enjoying a 2-1 lead from their first leg. Ronaldo has now scored in his last six visits to the Catalan capital and came out on top in his personal battle with Lionel Messi, who was largely anonymous in the game.

The Argentine, however, has the chance to respond when the pair meet again in the league at the weekend.

  • Madrid were fantastic. Barca lacked leadership and conviction. The play acting was disgraceful though, Jordi alba went down at one stage like he got a punch from one of the klitchsko brothers!!!!

    • Barca weren’t the only ones play acting in fairness. I know Pepe isn’t exactly a model professional but he was rolling around even when he was the one delivering the rash challenges.

Needs to be cleaned out of the game, seems to seeping into the English game more and more. Should be a citing process for diving.

  • Ronaldo was pure class tonight. He’s still a complete arse though..

  • Never seen xavi play so bad. Took me half an hour to realise he was playing and not on the bench.

  • Barca were poor vs Milan last week too. Goes to show people have figured out they don’t have the best back 4 and keeper in the world.

    • I think it goes to show how important a manager is when it comes to these tactical games! They were completely clueless these two games and I can’t see it changing without having Tito back!

  • During Guardiola’s four seasons the team had always a bad moment and it’s like that right now. Hopefully the team will recover and will show its best side. Visca el Barça!

  • I must say that this result has been accepted with far more class than the result lastweek vs Milan.

Madrid were excellent last night. and theres the possibility of a madrid derby for the final, which would be great.

As for Barca, I think they’re suffering without a manager. A good result in the return leg against Milan though and they could still pull of a double. Have to overturn a 2 goal defecit first though. Any talk of this team being finished is absolutley ridiculous though. They have been imperious in La Liga!

  • Pity to see a great team like barca just not perform on the night

  • Being a Barca fan I have to say i’ve never seen them play so bad at home. But people jump the gun and say “oh the end of an era” and such, is absolute BS. They’ve had a few bad games and they can’t be amazing in every game! what does it take for some people? they’re top of La Liga and Messi just broke the 300 goal threshold. Iniesta is probably the best mid fielder in the world and players like Tello and Thiago are gonna ensure Barca will be a force in the future. Fair play to Real on the night, but it’s a tit for tat thing with these two teams. Next year, Barca could beat them 4-0 and the year after Real could do the same. Still think Barca are the greatest though.

  • Goes to show that if you starve messi of oppurtunities then you limit much of the threat of posed by barca. They rely on him so much and the likes of puyol, xavi and even iniesta look like they’ve passed their best.

    • Ah Alan iniesta and xavi are still two of the best around.

    • Oh i agree they are still class but watching them this season against quality opposition i think they are not reaching their usual high standards and that possibly their best form has passed.

    • Here we go again. Barca have one or two bad games in a great season and then someone makes a comment that some of the best mid fielders in the world are “PASSED IT”…absolutely ridiculous comment. I watch them week in week out and fair enough they were awful last night, but they can’t be amazing 100% of the time!

    • I said against QUALITY opposition friend. There is a big differences in running rings around valladolid and espanyol week in week out then going up against bigger teams in europe – and its against that calibre of opposition that i think they’ve looked a bit off the pace compared to seasons past

  • I think Barca might be a busted flush. There you go, I said it
