PSG expect Blanc cheque will secure Cavani signing

The €55m release clause doesn’t seem to bother the French outfit.

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN manager Laurent Blanc expects the club to tie up a deal for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani soon.

The Uruguay international has been strongly linked with a move to the Ligue 1 champions, with fellow suitors Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City seemingly missing out on his signature.

And despite the delays to the deal being ratified, Blanc is confident the 26-year-old will ply his trade in France in 2013-14.

“I hope there are no problems,” the Frenchman said.

“But at the moment it is useless to talk about the future if Cavani is not here yet.

“I expect the player to be ours, but we will see what happens and then review it from there.”

Cavani was a key figure for a Napoli side who finished second in Serie A last season, scoring 29 goals in 34 league appearances.
