POBALSCOIL CHORCA DHUIBHNE made a winning start to the defence of their Munster football crown today.
The Dingle based school who have won the last three Corn Uí Mhuiri titles got the better of 2011 champions Coláiste Chríost Rí by six points in Clondrohid in Cork.
Elsewhere last year’s beaten finalists De La Salle Macroom lost by eight points against Tralee CBS at Dr Crokes grounds in Killarney.
The reigning All-Ireland Senior B Post-Primary football champions Coláiste Choilm were three point winners over fellow Cork school Clonalkilty CS.
St Brendan’s (Killarney) had 12 points to spare over Mercy Mounthawk in Firies while Coláiste Na Sceilge claimed a 15-point success over St Flannan’s in Rathkeale.
It finished all square in the all-Cork clash in Ballineen between Rochestown College and St Fachtna’s while Tipperary school HS Clonmel enjoyed a ten-point victory.
