The future Queen of the Mountains is, we're told, Maggie O'Dwyer. Here she is slipping down the pack a little:

It was a great show for sure, I find the structure of these races not very satisfying though, essentially a 180km warm up and a few km of a sprint at the end, wasnt long enough to know or care who actually won if you dont know the riders in advance.
That’s the problem with flat stages. Solution is put some hills in, put some cobbled sections in, or hope there are crosswinds to split the bunch into echelons. You have to look at it in the context of a 3 week race though. A lot of riders are just trying to stay out of crashes and not lose time til the business end of the race starts next week.
Think the grey line is the kerb in the second photo, the first photo clearly shows she is on the path I would imagine the second photo was taken by a second person on the reverse angle but the kerb drop is not obvious, with the speed they go at I cant believe they legged it and caught them. But maybe.

She needs to be drug tested. She wasn’t even heard of 3 years ago, now she’s leading the race. Very suspicious.
“Not normal”, said Lance.
Excellent comment sir!
Funniest comment in a long long time!!
Thanks guys for all the kind comments. the shot was taken at Seapark Malahide and was lucky to get it as they were moving faster than my old camera could process, a great spectacle no less
Good man Tony, great shot
Congrats! Great pic.
Fantastic shot. I hope it goes global.
Well done tony brilliant mad me laugh plus the first comment!
Smashing photo, congratulations to Tony :-)
It was something special seeing the peloton pass. I can’t explain it but my heart was racing.
I remember that feeling from 1998 when the Tour de France came from Dundrum through Kilmacud … :-)
I never knew that happened.
Any special reason,or,just thinking now,was it Stephen Roche?
Great photo Tony Kavanagh……
Did anyone else see or does anyone know, the guy in tri-colour morph suit run alongside the 5 break away leaders in Baldoyle? So funny, it was on the Eurosport Coverage in replay
Saw it also, classic.

Great photo and all but in the second one she is way too close to the peloton. Very dangerous.
Serious attitude on her too.
She’s on the footpath
Not in the second photo as I said. Need glasses?
Think the grey line is the kerb in the second photo, the first photo clearly shows she is on the path I would imagine the second photo was taken by a second person on the reverse angle but the kerb drop is not obvious, with the speed they go at I cant believe they legged it and caught them. But maybe.
Either way she is too close to them in the second photo. Bit of realism and respect is needed for the speed and power they are going at.
What’s that in the sky above the girls head and what does it want from us?
She’s the only one not wearing a helmet.
those boys are in touble if she gets pedals on her bike
If the sea is on their left hand side surely they have passed through Malahide and are heading for Portmarnock?
DOH!
The image might have been deliberately inverted digitally, which would explain why the sea is on the opposite side.
Fantastic photo.
Is she Dan’s replacement for Garmin
great shot well timed to perfection
Well spotted, Tony! Super photo.
Lovely photo. Why ‘Sometime’S ‘ – Sometimes is correct.
Cartier Bresson’s instant décisif, Tony. Great picture.
