ANTHONY FOLEY’S MUNSTER will open their Guinness Pro12 campaign at home to Edinburgh on the opening weekend of the new season.
However, the undoubted stand-out fixture of the weekend of September 5 will be the meeting of last season’s finalists, Glasgow and Leinster, in Scotstoun.
Ulster too will have a tricky trip on their hands as they visit Llanelli, while Pat Lam’s bolstered Connacht side will host Newport Gwent Dragons at the Sportsground.
Lam will hope to have his eight new signings fit and firing by the time the season’s first inter-pro comes around, with Leinster the visitors to Galway on the weekend of September 19.
Munster’s first meeting with Leinster will take place at the Aviva Stadium on the weekend of October 3, two weeks before the gap in the schedule allowed for the Rugby Champions Cup.
The Les Kiss and Neil Doak-controlled Ulster will host Glasgow a week out from European competition, but they won’t face Irish opposition until the last week in November when they visit Thomond Park.
