DESPITE PLAYING MOST of the game with just 10 men, Hull held on for all three points against Norwich this afternoon thanks to a Robbie Brady penalty midway through the first half.
The Tigers were awarded the spot kick after former Hull defender Michael Turner brought down Yannick Sagbo in the area and Irish international Brady made no mistake with his penalty.
Despite having Sagbo sent off for a reported headbutt just five minutes later, Hull were able to see out the game against a Norwich side still looking for a win in the early stages of the new season.
Stoke 2-1 Crystal Palace

Stoke City stormed back from behind to beat Premier League new boys Crystal Palace 2-1 on Saturday and earn manager Mark Hughes victory in his first home game.
Palace’s new signing Marouane Chamakh put the visitors ahead with a slickly taken goal in the first half, but Stoke scored twice in four second-half minutes to claim their first points of the season.
Southampton 1-1 Sunderland

Portuguese centre-back Jose Fonte scored an 88th-minute equaliser to earn Southampton a 1-1 draw at home to Sunderland.
Sunderland had taken an early lead thanks to one of their many new signings, Emanuele Giaccherini, and Paolo Di Canio’s side looked set to claim their first win of the season until Fonte met James Ward-Prowse’s free kick with a downward header that goalkeeper Keiren Westwood could not keep out.
Newcastle 0-0 West Ham
The perfect cure for insomnia, Newcastle and West Ham only managed one shot on target between them this afternoon.
While Geordie fans have slightly more cause for optimism than they did after Monday’s hammering by Manchester City, their lack of goals will undoubtedly cause manager Alan Pardew plenty of sleepless nights.
Everton 0-0 West Brom
It’s two draws from two for Everton’s new boss Roberto Martinez as they were frustrated by a well-organised West Brom side at Goodison Park today.
Marouane Fellaini came closest to scoring when his late effort came back off the post, while a Seamus Coleman cross also struck the woodwork.
