Premier League preview: How to fill out your weekend football accumulator

Liverpool and Chelsea look to take control at the top while a host of clubs will attempt to secure safety.

All games kick-off Saturday at 3pm unless otherwise stated

Tottenham v Fulham, 12.45pm

FELIX MAGATH HAS given Fulham fans real hope of survival having revitalised the squad by bringing in young players and they travel the short distance to White Hart Lane in search of a third win on the bounce.

Spurs only just scraped a draw against West Brom last time out thanks to Christian Eriksen’s late equaliser and they are without a number of players including Michael Dawson, Jan Vertonghen, Kyle Walker and Roberto Soldado for this one.

Lewis Holtby, meanwhile, is unavailable to line out for the Cottagers against his parent club.

Bet: Draw 10/3

Aston Villa v Southampton

It hasn’t been the best of weeks for Aston Villa off the pitch with assistant manager Ian Culverhouse and head of football operations Gary Karsa handed suspensions with an internal investigation to follow.

They are only four points above the drop zone so could do with picking up a couple more points sooner rather than later after losing their last four Premier League matches.

Southampton seem to have taken the foot off the gas in recent weeks and were far from their best in the defeat to Cardiff.

Bet: Draw 23/10

Cardiff v Stoke

Cardiff showed that they are not quite dead and buried with that victory over Southampton but they will have to follow it up with another equally-impressive result to have any hope of getting out of the bottom three.

Tenth-placed Stoke, aiming for their highest ever Premier League finish, have won three of their last four and are unbeaten in the last seven meetings between the sides.

Bet: Stoke 15/8

Newcastle v Swansea

Newcastle are currently in the middle of an awful run of form — losing their last league fixtures while conceding 12 and failing to score once.

Alan Pardew will be praying the imminent return of French striker Loic Remy can give the Magpies the boost they desperately need for the visit of Swansea.

The Swans have had to deal with problems of their own and could yet be sucked into a relegation dog fight with just four points from their last six.

Bet:  Newcastle 13/8

West Ham v Crystal Palace

Tony Pulis has been tipped as a Manager of the Year contender for the terrific work he has done since taking over from Ian Holloway and leading Crystal Palace to the 40-point mark.

The Eagles take on West Ham, three points back in 12th, in a London derby and will be high on confidence having won their last four games. Palace also have the chance to do the double over the Hammers after their meeting at Selhurst Park ended 1-0 to the home side back in December.

Bet: Draw 11/5

Chelsea v Sunderland, 5.30pm

With leaders Liverpool not playing until Sunday, Chelsea have the will reclaim the top spot with a win over Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues take on their main title contenders in what could be the defining game of the season next Sunday and cannot afford to drop points to the Black Cats here.

Gus Poyet’s men sit bottom and look destined for the Championship but did nearly pull off a shock against Manchester City — drawing 2-2 at the Etihad thanks to Connor Wickham’s double.

Bet: Chelsea 1/5

Norwich v Liverpool, Sunday 12pm

Liverpool can edge another step closer to their first title in 24 years by seeing off Norwich in Sunday’s early afternoon meeting with Norwich.

The Reds will have to do it without Jordan Henderson after his red card in the win over Man City while striker Daniel Sturridge is likely to miss out with a hamstring injury but Luis Suarez will be aiming to add to his 11 goals against the Canaries.

Neil Adams, who replaced Chris Hughton in the Norwich hotseat, has been tasked with consolidating their Premier League status but it’s hard to see them getting a first win in five here.

Bet: Liverpool 2/5

Hull v Arsenal, Sunday 2.05pm

Hull are still on a high after booking their place in next month’s FA Cup final for the first time and take on Arsenal in a dress rehearsal of that 17 May clash at the KC Stadium.

The Tigers must now focus on ensuring survival but may see upcoming games at Fulham and Aston Villa as better opportunities to earn a result.

A 3-1 win over West Ham in midweek puts the Gunners a point ahead of Everton in fourth after the Toffees slipped up at home to Crystal Palace but there is little between them in the race for a Champions League spot.

Bet: Arsenal 17/20

Everton v Man United, Sunday 4.10pm

David Moyes returns to the ground where he spent 11 years in charge as Everton host Manchester United.

While United haven’t played since going out of the Champions League to Bayern Munich, the Toffees nicked a 1-0 win away to Sunderland but were undone against Crystal Palace on Wednesday.

Juan Mata and former Everton midfielfer Marouane Fellaini are set to return having missed out against Munich through being cup-tied and injured respectively. Phil Jagielka, meanwhile, is a doubt for the home side.

Bet: Draw 23/10

Man City v West Brom, Monday 8pm

On Monday night, Man City plan to bounce back from dropping two points against Sunderland with victory over West Brom.

Manuel Pellegrini must do without Yaya Toure, David Silva and Jesus Navas as the Blues take on the Baggies, who are unbeaten in their last three.

And, six points off Liverpool with a game in hand, the Chilean is refusing to give up on the winning the title.

“I am absolutely sure the other teams will drop points in the same way we did in the last game,” he told the club’s website. “We have 15 more points to play for and we will try and win the most amount of points.

Bet: Man City 2/9
