AFTER AN EVENTFUL week of Champions League football we are back to the bread and butter of the Premier League. As always, we hired an independent think tank to study the form guide, analyse the numbers and bring you five bets to think about before the games kick-off tomorrow.
As always, these bets are absolutely guaranteed to come through provided a large number of variables fall into place.
Both teams to score and Man United vs Chelsea to be a draw – 16/5
At this stage, we have a fair idea what these two teams are about – United are very strong going forward and suspect at the back and Chelsea are very solid going forward AND strong at the back.
But despite only conceding eight goals, Chelsea have only kept three clean sheets so United’s array of attacking talent can be confident of getting a goal. In fact, they have only failed to score in one of their games this year (Burnley away) and that was before van Gaal had made all of his signings.
Chelsea are the form team in the league, but United’s home displays have been far better than their away efforts so over 3/1 for a score draw doesn’t look too bad.
Hull win/draw vs Liverpool – 15/8
Last season, Liverpool vs Hull at Anfield would have been a banker for the home side but last Wednesday’s game against Real Madrid once again reinforced the struggles Liverpool have gone through this term.
Liverpool’s confidence will be shaken after the Madrid shellacking and Hull come into the game after getting a great point at the Emirates against Arsenal.
Obviously, Liverpool are still strong favourites, but in this form their opposition are probably always worth considering.
Under 1.5 goals in Southampton vs Stoke – 5/2
It might be a little ridiculous to expect one goal or less in Southampton vs Stoke but these two teams have only conceded 14 goals between them so far, less than a goal per game.
Southampton may have scored eight last weekend but Stoke are exactly the kind of team that could frustrate Ronald Koeman’s men and also, aren’t Southampton due to slip up soon?
Everton -1 vs Burnley – 23/10
Although Everton are still in mid-table they recorded an impressive win – and more importantly, a clean sheet – at home to Aston Villa last week, and it looks like they may finally be getting their season in gear.
Their previous two games, against Liverpool and United, also produced bright performances and although they travel to Turf Moor, Burnley look like one of the league’s weakest teams this season, and they have only scored four goals in their first eight games.
Man City (away) to beat West Ham, Chelsea (away) to win/draw against Man United, Arsenal (away) to beat Sunderland and Stoke +2 (away) against Southampton – 4 and a little bit/1
The big accumulator of the week has been trimmed to a fourfold for this weekend… not sure it will make much of a difference but sure we’ll give it a go.
