Poll: would you like to see Roy Keane on the RTÉ football panel?

Bill O’Herlihy says you never know who could end up in Montrose in June. This could get interesting…

IT’S GOING TO be a tense and dramatic summer, whatever happens on the pitch in Poland, if Bill O’Herlihy gets his way.

RTÉ’s veteran football presenter says he’d love to see former Ireland captain Roy Keane join the likes of Eamon Dunphy, John Giles and Liam Brady in the studio for the station’s Euro 2012 coverage.

In a TV50 programme, entitled ‘A Little Bit – Bill O’Herlihy’, to be broadcast on RTÉ tomorrow night, the Corkman says he’d like to see the Manchester United legend in the Montrose studio.

O’Herlihy thinks Keane ‘would create huge waves’ and you ‘never know’ what will happen for the summer tournament.

“He said he’d rather go to the dentist than be a panellist, although he broke that recently for ITV. You never know, maybe he might in the Europeans, we’ll see,” the presenter said.

A spokesperson for RTÉ told TheScore: “RTÉ will be announcing details of its coverage including the panel for Euro 2012 in the coming months. We will not be commenting any further at this earlier stage.”  But what do you think?

Would you like to see Keane on the panel?
