Roy Keane: new challenge? John Walton/EMPICS Sport
eastern promise

Poll: Would Roy Keane's proposed move to Turkey be a good one?

Keane has not worked as a manager since his departure from the post at Ipswich Town, where he failed to make a real impression.

ROY KEANE WAS last night close to signing on as manager of Turkish club Kasimpasa.

The Corkman was reportedly in Istanbul yesterday and is said to have agreed terms with the little known Super Lig outfit, according to Turkish media.

Keane has not worked as a manager since his departure from the post at Ipswich Town, where he failed to make a real impression.

Previously he led Sunderland from the foot of the Championship to Premier League promotion before walking away from the Stadium of Light.

Keane has been part of ITV’s football coverage panel for some time alongside Gareth Southgate and presenter Adrian Chiles.

The Kasimpasa vice-president told news agents over the weekend that a deal was done in principle but it remains to be seen if the former Ireland and Manchester United skipper goes east.

So, what do you think? Would the move to the Istanbul be a good one?
