THE FUTURE OF Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been the subject of much speculation in recent times, and his side’s loss in the League Cup against Bradford last night intensified pressure on him to resign.

Many of the club’s fans are frustrated with the fact that they haven’t won a trophy in eight years, while the manager’s supporters point to his record of consistently helping Arsenal secure a top-four spot and Champions League football come the end of the season.

Ex-Arsenal star Stewart Robson says Wenger should be sacked, while former Gunners forward Ian Wright believes the veteran coach still has the capacity to take the club forward.

With that in mind, what do you think? Should Arsene Wenger be sacked as Arsenal manager?

  • Wenger needs to come out with some kind of explanation as to why they are so annoyingly inconsistent. They were good against WBA but brutal in the previous and following match. Same all year. Also, would chamakh and gervinho have been tolerated 10 yrs ago? Finally, Wenger needs to stop flailing around the dug out and crying to the 4th official and try to make some clear tactical decisions during matches. COYG.

  • As a United fan I have to say I have great respect for Wenger. Unlike Benitez at Liverpool, this fella isn’t blaming the owners for lack of funds in the transfer market after selling his best players (eg Alonso).

I think in the long run you will see that he has boxed cleverly. There is not a snowballs chance in hell that all this money floating around modern football is sustainable. Arsenal have stayed in Champions League places consistently, kept their heads above water with their finances with a great new stadium. Watch this space, Arsenal will be the top team in England and Europe in years to come.

  • Arsenal’s board seem to have patience with Wenger, being confident that Financial Fair Play will level the playing field. They expect to be competitive in 2014. Its very disappointing for Arsenal fans that they haven’t won a trophy for a long time, and there is a bit of bad luck involved, they’ve had 3 cup finals over this period. On top of the fact that they lose their best player every summer this has been a bleak period on the surface. However Arsenal is still one of the best run football clubs in the world. They turn a profit every year, make it to the latter stages of the Champions league every year and still regularly produce top players from their own youth teams or buying other youngsters and building on their development. All Wenger needs is a bit of luck in a cup competition and bring it home and it would silence the boo boys and get him closer to the induction of FFP. It will be interesting to see how Arsenal do when clubs have to spend within their means.

  • You cant expect Arsenal to win the Champions League or Premiership with the money they spend on players or wages end of story. Who wants to win the worthless cup most teams put out their second teams and rightly so, they are a good bet to win the FA cup this year, fully expect them to beat Swansea……..or not lol!

Nobody at Arsenal gives a toss about that match last night…… its all about who will finish 4th Arsenal Spurs Everton or Liverpool……..simples………ask Dalglish…….he got the bullet for not finishing in the top 4.

It’s all about the Champions league thats where the money is. The Europa league is another worthless cup no money in it.

Wenger really needs a new winter coat – very hard to stick up for the man when he is wearing that cross between a sleeping bag and a straight jacket!

    Steward Robson? Who is he?

Stewart Robson is no Arsenal star. I have followed Arsenal since the late 70′s and i honestly cant remember him.
He was an analyst on Arsenal TV and got the sack – he now appears on every and any TV and radio show peddles his story about there being a rift between Arsene Wenger and Steve Bold.

He has a chip on his shoulder re Arsenal and everything he says should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Ian Wright is as usual Wright Wright Wright! if Wenger was to leave Arsenal he would walk into any job !

The majority of Arsenal fans are happy with Wenger – the minority should be careful what they wish for.

And as for Stewart Robson – he can kiss my Ars en al -
